BUILDING A BIZAD COMMUNITY!
Exciting things are happening at the NUS Business School of which you are a part by virtue of being an alumnus! Firstly we have a new dean in Prof Bernard Yeung who came with a very successful tenure at NYU’s Stern Business School. Secondly we have just been voted the 20th Best EMBA in the FT World Ranking Survey. Thirdly, our NUS Business School is the most preferred Business School for the fresh intake of BBA students in the 2009 cohort according to another survey!
While our alma mater is blazing new trails, we in the NUS Business School Alumni Association are doing likewise. On July 31st, 2009, we launched what must be a first in the history of tertiary education in Singapore. Our Alumni Association initiated a Business Advisor Program together with Spring Singapore and supported by the Singapore Business Federation as well as the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre. As an alumni body, we aim not just to organize reunion dinners or homecoming teas but to go beyond that to touch your lives – in this case, to help fellow alumni who have unfortunately been displaced by the current recession.
Together with the 28,000 other alumni, you form a vital link in the chain of support for our beloved alma mater so that it can continually strive to be the pre-eminent Business School of choice for both Singaporeans and foreign students from afar - so we need YOU!
The NUS Business School Alumni has a range of social, networking and academic events that cater to different needs. Do stay tuned to this website so that you are kept abreast. I appeal to you to participate in as many as possible with an ultimate purpose of giving back to our community. So do engage to serve and give back to society at large!
Our guiding philosophy is INCLUSIVENESS and towards this end, I appeal to you to write to us with any interesting story about your cohort for the same to be featured in our newly-minted section herein called “Class Notes”.
Do encourage your fellow cohort mates to join the NUSBSA so that together we can make a difference. We look forward to your participation in this meaningful endeavour.
